To compare or not to compare: that is the question :)

The saints in traditional Islam have always advised not to organize multiple marriages at the same time even if they be sisters, lest the brides be compared with one another. But can we ordinary mortals really resist the temptation...? I am talking about comparisons of course :-) . Especially for people of our background who churn on cold statistics and treat them with the same nonchalance we treat our morning coffee with. All these thoughts were going around in my mind as I downloaded Safari, FireFox and Chrome (not in this particular order of course:-)) . Apart from the usual "proprietary vs open source" debates we have gotten used to , usability and performance are the most aptly talked about areas when we choose sides in the software arena. I will share my experiences later on as we get knee deep into our current assignments. One of the biggest challenges which got unearthed on the very first meeting we had was about the testing strategy. Come to think of it, how do you test a really vast and rich user interface and be damn sure you covered all the scenarios? Now , we don't really have an army out here ready to find bugs in multi browser compliance... Maybe we need to take probability into perspective here. Like the probability to find a bug in a particular scenario is inversely proportional to the number of browsers it has already been tested on. Hmm, not bad but you really cant rub this on your managers...they know ..eh.. best(sounds politically correct which I have to be over here :] ). Anyway, will keep you posted in this multi browser saga and till then , bubye!!!

  1. Compare of different browsers with marriage! Quite interesting and funny. Nevertheless, you caught the attention! Interesting style of presenting facts!
